123Greetings.Com the pioneer in Internet Greeting Card / e-invitations for parties and ceremonies Services since 1996 operated by Intrasoft Technologies is going public / IPO  next week. It will raise Rs 50o to Rs 536 mn in the offering. According to comScore Media Metrix derived from comscore.com certified on February 2, 2010, its Website was the largest (by number of Unique Visitors) electronic greeting cards website in India with the following statistics

  • 15 million Unique Visitors during the twelve month period from November 2008 to October 2009

Indian Domain Registry Security compromised – Courtesy Afilias

Afilias the well known brand name for those in the internet industry did a blunder over the weekend. As they moved registry.in to Drupal powered by Apache/2.2.3  on Red Hat Linux, they exposed source code of part core modules, due to some configuration issues.

Afilias maintains .Org .Asia and many other Top Level Domains. Anybody with Perl programming experience could download at least 4 core modules from the site.  I am not sure if they could download the entire Database of Indian Domains but you never know, hackers are the smartest Developers in my view :-)

Filing RTI with RTINation – It Just Works

I was curious to know if various Government agencies consider the RTI really seriously. As expected, I filed one with the Ministry of Communications and indeed they responded very accurately :-)

Here is my experience about filing RTI through an online facilitator – RTINation.Com . I filed my application with them on the 18th of Sept by paying the fees [INR 125] through online Account transfer.
