India 2G Spectrum Scam – Global Media Trashes Prime Minister
The 2G Spectrum Scam in India which I wrote about year ago is now in the limelight in international media. They are accusing Dr. Singh for having A. Raja in the cabinet. India is Calling Telecom Gear Manufacturers to Set Shop
After the recent Chinese telecom equipment controversy, the Government of India has swiftly moved and appears to have sought advise from TRAI on setting local telecom gear manufacturing in India as operators are expected to go shopping for gears to the tune of $12 bn.
TRAI in its pre-consultation paper is asking how can we accelerate the growth of telecom equipment manufacturing locally and create an eco-system for the same. If you are involved in Telecom related business, career, R&D etc you might want to touch base with TRAI by sending in your opinion to cn@trai.gov.in Or srocn1@trai.gov.in by June-8th, 2010. Kindly don’t be dis-heartened if e-mail bounces [keep trying] or TRAI fails to reply or acknowledge your opinion as it is a Government organization and certainly lacks the business etiquette. No offense.
