Mobile Tariff War – Can Airtel’s Mittal Sweteen Ambani’s Holiday Gift ? Scope Offer More
Anil Ambani coming from Finance background may have approved the Simply Reliance Tariff plan in denial. [Somebody made money shorting Bharti Airtel heavily, if you are from SEBI, investigate this] However, I must differ from opinion of the rest that this is not the end of the Tariff war.
Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal is known for innovative business practices [Outsourcing], so what is the gift for his large family of 110mn subscribers this Holiday season? They can’t afford to sit and watch their customers churn. If they simply matches RCom’s offer – Intense War Ahead. Airtel may offer the Sweet Poison to its customers [ This time I expect it to be diluted Gimmick, but still no whole hearted giveaway] something like – Make On-Net Calling FREE for Flat Monthly Fee [A variant in this like FREE between 23:00 to 06:00 hrs etc]. I’d really love to see something out of the Box offering from Airtel, can Mitall still call the shots to maintain the Growth story ?
Regarding the Tariff, we still have scope for little more, [When you take the blended ARPU, ARPM you will see the difference in Tariff]
- Per Second Pulse be made the Standard
- Unlimited Calling Plans – On-Net or Off-Net [Variants]
- Free Night and Weekend Calling
- No distinction between STD / Local and make India One dream come True
Ultimately, when 3G is deployed, Voice Calls on 2G / 3G may not make much sense as VoIP usage will be rampant
Hate it, Block it, Market Forces will use it
This also means the industry will consolidate ahead of time and IT Ministry better be ready with M & A Guidelines [LOL, they don't even have a clear spectrum policy yet]

I don’t know much about Vodafone Essar and hence can’t write about them. Since they are unlisted, they are extremely hostile when sought information. What else can you expect from a Ruia / Essar company
the tariff war has not ended..it has just begun..wt with so many operators coming up diff schemes!
