Yahoo Services Outage – FEATURE_ERROR_USER_ OPEN_NO_ACCESS

August 26, 2007 · Filed Under Web

Their seems to be a problem with Yahoo! authentication services. I am unable to login to my Yahoo! mail / messenger and when I tried retrieving my password through the forgot password interface it throws this error FEATURE_ERROR_USER_OPEN_NO_ACCESS. A Google search on the same revealed many across the world are facing this issue and they are posting through alternate Yahoo! ids. Here is my screen shot.

I have been using Yahoo! mail since 1999 and haven’t had any serious issue till now, hopefully they will resolve it soon.

So what is the solution? I have been going nuts for the last hour or so. Suspected some hacking initially but google search reveals that I am not alone today.

I have been using Yahoo since 1998 and seems this is the second time I have major trouble logging in. There was sometime in 2000 when there was a major outage and hope this is not another one, and will be restored soon.

Is anyone aware of any Yahoo Outage or something like that? Do you know if we have to contact someone?

  18. Sug on January 30th, 2008 11:51 am

Solution: Go to yahoo.co.in and sign in from there. What a relief! Yet to figure out about YM

People facing above problem and who are from INDIA, the solution is

    >> Make sure you clear all TEMP files and COOKIES (Give problem sometimes)

    >> use only INTERNET EXPLORER browser ( doesnt work on FIREFOX,MOZILLA)

    >> Go to http://WWW.YAHOO.CO.IN, click SIGN IN, and enter.

Looks like yahoo is upto something that is going to be a majoorrr headache

Had the same problem. Tried the forgotten password route. Nothing. It wouldn’t even recognize my user ID. Googled and came across a suggestion to go through the yahoo.co.in route. Went to the Yahoo! India web page and could log into my mail on the second try. Hope it works for you guys and gals too.

It worked for me on Firefox.
