Indian Telecom Regulatory Website HACKED

March 12, 2007 · Filed Under Broadband, Telecom, Web

You are reading this first hereSecurity has been compromised at TRAI website. The website is hacked by “Crackers_Child”. I have alerted TRAI regarding the same. Here is a screenshot for you :-)

Most Indian websites lack basic security and I am really glad that someone is teaching Indian Web Developers a good lesson. We write about India being the fastest growing Telecom market in the world but then, our regulators can’t protect their own website ;-)  TRAI needs to cleanup its mess in the IT department because even their e-mails don’t work -   try sending an e-mail to trai@del2.vsnl.net.in and it will bounce back.

This is not the first time such an incident has happened, last year, goBroadband exposed about poor security and QA issues on Bharti-Airtel Broadband portal as well as Business Today Magazine. Business Today hasn’t fixed it yet.
