Connaught Place to be wi-fied
After the Karnataka State administration unveiling WiMax on trial basis in Bangalore, the Delhi State government just a while ago announced its plans to wi-fi Connaught Place.
Yogesh Khanduja, Systems Analyst of the Department of Information Technology said,
This is a pilot project and we will start a survey to find other areas in the capital where this project can be launched after six months. We are setting up 10 information kiosks in market places and government offices so that people coming to the area for business and shopping would be able to connect to the Internet without any hassle.
This pilot project will go live on Jan-1-2007. So the next time when your girl friend shops, you can surf the web

Chetan,
Thanks for putting up this news. It is great to see services like this being made available. Is this supposed to be a free MuniWiFi service or subscription based?
Cheers,
