38% of Indian Internet Users are heavy Users

In a recent study conducted by IAMAI, they have found out 38% of Indian internet users are heavy users and on an average spend 8.2 hours/week on the internet. That’s mere 1.17 hour/day. I would personally classify someone as a heavy user if they spend more than 3 hours on the web and as an average user if they spend about an hour.
Logging on to the web with a 256 KBPs connection(aka as Broadband in India) is still a nightmare, atleast in Bangalore. BSNL has a waiting list to the tune of 3,000 in some parts of Bangalore south.
