Mobile Magic, another mobile retailer

mobile_magic_India.JPGEarlier I reporetd the popularity of mobile retailing in India. The story doesn’t end with MobileNxt, ConvergeM & M Bazaar or Essar Telecom. This time we have Mr. Vijay SinghNOKIA dealer from Mahrashtra who has grown his business organically and had a choice to expand in assocation with NOKIA or venture on his own. Vijay opted for the latter and started Mobile Magic, a chain of retail mobile stores which will offer Mobile Handsets and Accessories, Cellular Plans bundled with Value Added Services, Mobile repairs and software. Mobile Magic has also tied up with gaming companies to offer  access  to cheaper and better mobile games.

They are targetting only tier-2 and tier-3 cities. The company operates on both self-owned and franchisee model and has 34 retail outlets in small towns of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and South Gujarat. With so many retailers to sell the same service, atlast we hope to reliaze Baapuji’s dream of “Customer is the most important visitor on our premises”.

[...] With such a huge potential for the mobile market, several players are entering the organized mobile retailing sector. Mobile NXT was the first one to enter directly into the business without any retailing background. While Mobile Magic was a state wide distributor and opted to go for its own branding. UniverCell Telecom was a distributor too and opted to go for online mobile retailing. ConvergeM and MBazaar are owned by India’s famous retailer, Pantloon and are expected to roll out 120 stores by 2007 and are also planning for concept mobile stores. Others in line to get a slice of Mobile retail market are are Essar Telecom, ITC Limited’s eChoupal for rural mobile marketing and DCM Shriram through their Hariyali Kissan Bazaar once again targetting the rural Indian consumer. 1. first of all are all the dealers and company operated stores actually connected throught SAP.
    2. Is your company also into Internet business and anyhow your business related to the internet tranactions as this is quick and high revenue generator with low operating cost.
    3. Why had u choosen to move Geographically but not dense places then Demograhically high potential places.
    4. What is ur company plans for North India?

I agree with yash1stopshop4u. They do not care about your problems of franchisees problems. in that case, it is real bad for those who had taken the franchisee…

I am not sure about SAP whether it has been implemented in this company.
